I've had my eye on these 7Gypsies trays for awhile, but never knew what I would do with one. Well, this year for Christmas I decided to bite the bullet and make a few.
This is one for my friend who is a huge Denver University Pioneers hockey fan. I go to all the games with her and her family and decided to pull some photos over the last season and use them on the tray. I also pulled some stuff from the game day magazines and used a couple ticket stubs.
I added some "gold dust" (Cream Soda pixie stick glitter in a 7Gypsies glass bottle) and a gold pan (that I got from an online jewelry retailer). The gold pan has significance because the Pios play in-state rivals, Colorado College Tigers, and the winner of the 4 game series wins a trophy of sorts, a gold pan. This is just a little something between the schools that gives extra meaning to their games. DU has held onto the pan for the last few years!
For my first tray, I like how it came out. I hope she likes it too!!
1 down and 2 more trays to go...

It's that time again!
Time for another sketch up at Twisted Sketches!!
Once again, I decided to use the sketch and scrap for me, instead of for the Christmas gifts that I am slowly making progress on! The twist this week is "flowers" which I usually don't ahve any problem using on my LOs.
I picked up the Simple Stories Destination line awhile back, figuring I would use it for some trip. After looking at my photos from my last trip to Pittsburgh to see my girl Jenn, I knew this line would work well! In going through my many kits, I found a little bottle of gold shimmer spray floating around, kitless and lonely. So I decided I would jazz up the elements on here-chipboard, flower, ticket, and ribbon- and use up that spray. This will definitely be a 2-page LO when I get around to scrapping the rest of this trip!

New Challenge up over at Twisted Sketches
Check out the latest challenge over at Twisted Sketches. This week's twist is white. Since we've already had our first snow of the season, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!
I had fun with the snowflake theme on this LO. I embossed the white cardstock with a snowflake plate, and colored the back of the acrylic snowflake with white paint. I decided to hurry up the drying process with a heat gun, not thinking that it would melt the acrylic. Ooops! But, it curled the ends forward a little, so when I put it on my page, it gave some added dimension. I am still trying to decide if I am going to make a second page to go with this one. But I love the way this one turned out!!

A little toot :)
So today on the Echo Park blog, the featured one of my LOs! It was brought to my attention on a thread over at A Cherry On Top and really made my day. You can check out the blog post here. They spotted my LO of Munchkin with his advent calendar (Counting Down with Chocolate) in the gallery at ACOT and decided to share it.
Thanks for letting me share my little bit of a toot! It's a first for me :)

New Sketch up over at Twisted Sketches
Good morning! This weeks sketch is up over at Twisted Sketches. I had a lot of fun with both the sketch and the twist this week, which is feathers. I found playing with them rather fun and I need to remmeber to use them more in the future. I like the texture they add and the bit of non-girly "fluff" to my LO about me and my non-girly friend Andrea!
So come on over to Twisted Sketches and play along. I can't wait to see what you can do with the twist of "feathers"!

November already!
I can't believe how fast the year has gone by! It seems like the older I get, the faster it goes. So now I need to get moving on all the gifts-albums and altered items- I decided I was going to make this year. I am almost halfway done with the Munchkin album, and just ordered about half the photos I need to start my sis' wedding album. And then there is the Christmas album for my brother and his family, not to mention 3 altered painter's trays and 2 altered boxes...WTH was I thinking??! LOL
Here is another LO for the Munchkin book:

Playing with Echo Park
In gathering supplies to do the gift album on Munchkin, I realized that I didn't really have any fun, bright Chirstmas lines. So I remedied that when Echo Park released their Holly Jollly line! I was in a Christmassy mode this weekend and decided to break it out and see what I could come up with for his book. I managed to get the Christmas LOs done for 2008.
The number paper was perfect for this LO of Munchkin and the advent calendar! And the bright, cheery colors worked well for the other LOs of him openeing presents at our house and at his grandparents house.

Sketch 124 is up over at Twisted Sketches!
Time seems to be getting away from me lately!! I can't believe that October is almost over and Christmas is right around the corner...that means I really need to get moving on these gift albums.
But, for this weeks sketch and twist at Twisted Sketches, I scrapped for myself instead. It worked perfectly with some photos I had just taken of Denver University's Ritchie Center and Magness Arena.
The thing that got me while I was creating this LO was that I really wanted it to be about the journaling, the feeling I get seeing the Ritchie Center lit up as we approach it, the energy and buzz inside Magness, the love I have for college hockey. And I was very happy on how it turned out, while keeping with the sketch assignment!
The first regular season home game for the Pios is tonight so there will be more Pios LOs coming up soon!
In the meantime, come on over to Twisted Sketches and play along with this weeks challenge!

Twisted Sketch #122 is up!!
Come check out the latest sketch over at Twisted Sketches!
Here is what I came up with for this weeks sketch:
I used Bo Bunny Et Cetera for everything, except the twine (MME) and the yellow flower (Kaiser Craft)
I've been trying to work on some gift albums lately (which I need to share some of the LOs here) and focusing so much on those, that it was nice to do something other than a Munchkin LO or one from my sister's wedding!
Hope you come on over to Twisted Sketches and play along!

New challenge over at Twisted Sketches
This weeks sketch is up at Twisted Sketches and the twist is "tiny"! I decided on doing a LO on my sweet mice, Sugar and Spice, using Basic Grey's "Max and Whiskers" line. I've had these pictures since we got them in March and just haven't gotten around to scrapping them. They worked perfectly with the sketch and the twist!
Come on over to Twisted Sketches and play along with this week's sketch!

Rough End to 2010, Rough Beginning to 2011
I have not been on here to update in so long. As type, I'm at my Aunt's house in CA, borrowing the computer for a few minutes to try and catch up on everything.
Dec was a rough month for me. Towards the beginning of the month, I was in the hospital with pneumonia. Right before Christmas my camera died (had a new one ordered from Best Buy. Ordered it on Black Friday and it didn't come until just after Christmas...GRRRR.....) And I got strep. I seem to be prone to strep and the last time I got it (in Oct) I was told that my tonsils would be taken out the next time. Dec 22 I went to the Dr and got put on antibiotics. Christmas night my mom took me to the ER because I was no better and my tonsils were pretty much stuck together. The next day I was in surgery having a tonsilectomy. Unfortunately, I had to stay a couple days in the hospital because of some bleeding. I got out just in time to celebrate my dad's birthday and go out of town to see my wonderful scrappy/hockey buddy Jenn. Spent New Year's having a blast with her, which was good because when my dad picked me up from the airport he told me we were flying out to CA today because my grandfather had passed away. So now I'm gone again for a few days dealing with family who don't like me and a funeral. To top all this off, while I was in the hospital the 2nd time, the drs noticed that my blood counts were off, more than they should be for someone fighting off an infection. Now I am anemic and have to do blood transfusions every 4-5 months. But my counts were so abnormal that the drs want me to schedule appts for testing and all sorts of not fun stuff as soon as I get back to CO. So this will mean even more time in the hospital and clinics, hoping that it is nothing more than the anemia I already have...
Can I restart this year?? Pretty please??
