It's time for a new challenge over at Twisted Sketches

The new sketch is up over at Twisted Sketches! The twist this week is fabric. Here is what I came up with:
For the twist, I used a scrap of fun blue and green fabdric below the photos and then made both flowers out of some clearance fabric I picked up a while back at Hobby Lobby:

A few LOs

I was on a roll this past weekend and managed to get a few LOs done for the January challenges over at A Cherry On Top. This one is for the color challenge-use blues and purples on a winter LO. I came across this line of Bo Bunny (from last year I think) and it was perfect!

This one isn't for one of the monthly challenges, but for a challenge in the Hockey Forum. It was a recipe challenge and based on what I picked, I had to use- black cardstock, chipboard, flower, metal embellishment, distressing (it's kind of hard to see, but I took sandpaper and ran it over the pp), journaling, and a horizontal photo

And this one for the sketch challenge (I really do love sketches!)

Speaking of sketches, the new sketch will be up over at Twisted Sketches tomorrow, so be sure to stop by their blog and check it out!

A new sketch is up over at Twisted Sketches!

After a brief hiatus over the holidays, it's time again for a new sketch and a new twist over at Twisted Sketches. I had a lot of fun with this one and knew just what I wanted to do with it. The twist for this week is "new" so what better theme than New Years Eve?

With the exception of the sequin trim, I had everything else already in my stash! The clock I stamped using some Heidi Swapp clock stamps since I didn't have a white or clear clock to use.
Come check out what the rest of the DT did and play along!

Finally scrapping in 2012!

Ok so after the marathon scrap sessions I had in Dec to finish off 2 altered trays (the 2nd one I still need to post) and 2 albums that were each around 70 pages, I swore off scrapping! Never wanted to see my paper trimmer or ATG gun again! Then I decided that maybe I would just reorganize and purge my supplies since my mojo ran away with no thought of ever coming back. Well, after going through a couple bags and finding things that I forgot I had bought (don't you hate it when that happens? and I think it means I have way too many supplies again...), I got a small itch to use a Simple Stories line I had found. But, even finding the stuff, I still did nothing...until today! I logged in to A Cherry On Top and a few of the girls had a time challenge going. Basically, you had 1 hour (plus 10 min to download) from the time you said you'd start, to create a LO. I decided this was exactly what I needed to get going again, and away I went. I managed 3 LOs this afternoon and I am happy to say that it felt good to be scrapping again!

Using the Simple Stories Destinations line as well as some misc embellishments from my stash I did the following LOs from my trip this past June to see my friend Jenn:

On this LO, I used some Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey. I made the border by layering 2 pieces of 7Gypsies chipboard and adding some bling.

I'm happy to be scrapping again, especially since these are LOs that I've wanted to get done for awhile now!

My first altered tray

I've had my eye on these 7Gypsies trays for awhile, but never knew what I would do with one. Well, this year for Christmas I decided to bite the bullet and make a few.

This is one for my friend who is a huge Denver University Pioneers hockey fan. I go to all the games with her and her family and decided to pull some photos over the last season and use them on the tray. I also pulled some stuff from the game day magazines and used a couple ticket stubs.

I added some "gold dust" (Cream Soda pixie stick glitter in a 7Gypsies glass bottle) and a gold pan (that I got from an online jewelry retailer). The gold pan has significance because the Pios play in-state rivals, Colorado College Tigers, and the winner of the 4 game series wins a trophy of sorts, a gold pan. This is just a little something between the schools that gives extra meaning to their games. DU has held onto the pan for the last few years!

For my first tray, I like how it came out. I hope she likes it too!!
1 down and 2 more trays to go...

It's that time again!

Time for another sketch up at Twisted Sketches!!

Once again, I decided to use the sketch and scrap for me, instead of for the Christmas gifts that I am slowly making progress on! The twist this week is "flowers" which I usually don't ahve any problem using on my LOs.

I picked up the Simple Stories Destination line awhile back, figuring I would use it for some trip. After looking at my photos from my last trip to Pittsburgh to see my girl Jenn, I knew this line would work well! In going through my many kits, I found a little bottle of gold shimmer spray floating around, kitless and lonely. So I decided I would jazz up the elements on here-chipboard, flower, ticket, and ribbon- and use up that spray. This will definitely be a 2-page LO when I get around to scrapping the rest of this trip!

New Challenge up over at Twisted Sketches

Check out the latest challenge over at Twisted Sketches. This week's twist is white. Since we've already had our first snow of the season, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I had fun with the snowflake theme on this LO. I embossed the white cardstock with a snowflake plate, and colored the back of the acrylic snowflake with white paint. I decided to hurry up the drying process with a heat gun, not thinking that it would melt the acrylic. Ooops! But, it curled the ends forward a little, so when I put it on my page, it gave some added dimension. I am still trying to decide if I am going to make a second page to go with this one. But I love the way this one turned out!!
